Getting started

The menu that will be shown when CellexalVR is started showing the different options.

The first thing you will see when launching CellexalVR is a menu with four options: Single-user, Multi-user, Scarf pre processing and Tutorial. We recommend all first time users to do the tutorial to get a feel of the controllers. It only takes about 5 minutes and will give you an introduction which makes future use easier. The other two options will launch a new session of CellexalVR. Single-user puts you directly in the VR environment while the multi-user option opens up another menu. More on how to set up a multi-user session in this section.
In the main menu you can also see three input fields. The first input field lets you choose a username, everything you do will be saved in a folder with the same name. If you do not enter a username, everything will still be saved in a folder called default_user. You can read more about the logging and reporting in this section. The second field lets you tell CellexalVR where you have R installed. R is required in order to use certain features such as the heatmaps. The third field lets you tell CellexalVR where you have Scarf installed. This is only used if you plan to pre process data with Scarf.
